Our newly acquired domain, Lisk.com features a number of substantial improvements, new pages, and a refreshed design, delivering an optimal and enhanced user-experience that more closely aligns with our core mission, to make blockchain accessible to everyone. This blog post showcases our motivation for the transition to Lisk.com, as well as key improvements forthcoming with the refreshed website.

Motivation

Since day one, it has been of the utmost importance for us to gather feedback from our community with the goal of improving the Lisk website. Hence why we consistently run multiple user testing sessions, coupled with additional valuable input from our core community, which has enabled us to continually have a clearer understanding of what developers feel is missing and could be improved.

Lisk.io, developers, and the community laid the foundation for Lisk.com which is now an even more exciting, friendly, and engaging website that allows for anyone to build, interact, and engage with the Lisk products.

In essence, our biggest challenge and motivation was for Lisk.com to offer the fastest and simplest development entry point for anyone looking to build a blockchain application using JavaScript. We are confident that we have now achieved this goal.

Key Highlights

New pages

A new ecosystem landing page features an inclusive and easily digestible overview of Lisk’s evolving ecosystem as well as showcasing blockchain applications already built with the Lisk SDK. We hope that this page will inspire not only developers but all blockchain enthusiasts.

A new [documentation page](/node/1043) lays the foundation and provides relevant resources for developers looking for the quickest start in building a blockchain application using the Lisk SDK. The landing page includes development tutorials, information about the available developer programs, as well as featured development-related blog posts.

Improved pages

On our improved homepage the rationale highlighting the benefits of using our Lisk SDK is explained, including developer testimonials and our latest and relevant blog posts.The new format offers developers the opportunity to quickly get started, providing direct links to the Lisk documentation, tutorials, and community channels for technical support.

Moreover, the homepage now provides multilingual support which is designed to facilitate the accessibility and inclusion of the Lisk platform, by automatically translating the website pages into 15 different languages using Google Translate. We are aware that this isn’t the best translation solution available and will look into other options in the future.

To ensure the Lisk website maintains the latest up to date and relevant information, the events landing page was merged into the community page, containing an easier and a more in-depth look into the events organized by and for the community.

The newly improved community page now provides access to the community channels and the most relevant community-maintained websites. Lisk Center Utrecht is now listed with its own dedicated landing page, ensuring an even closer collaboration with the Lisk community.

As we work closely together with Wachsman PR, and also partner with relevant media outlets to deliver more content every week, we decided to launch a media page that would reflect our aspiration to share Lisk-related news to everyone in an easy-to-digest and friendlier manner. Therefore our former press and media page has now been improved and merged into our blog landing page, with a fresh design and layout.

Refreshed pages

• Lisk.com features several new segments of content aimed at covering everyone’s interests, as well as a whole design refresh to match our vision for the future, creating an even more inclusive and accessible platform for both developers and blockchain enthusiasts.
• We are extremely excited to connect with all participants of the blockchain community. Hence why our redesigned website additionally highlights and showcases the people behind Lisk, as well as our community members. This will allow us to have a more human-centric design.
• For anyone wondering about the color change on the homepage, we believe this gives a refreshingly new and aesthetically pleasing user experience, in line with our move forward towards a more production-ready phase at Lisk. The updated website comes with a bright blue hero element on the Homepage, designed to highlight the most relevant key information required by developers, consisting of a series of four cards linking to the most important resources: Introduction to the Lisk SDK, Lisk documentation, Tutorials, and Lisk.chat.

Future of Lisk.com

Now that the refreshed Lisk.com website has been introduced, we would like to share some of the key points listed below that we are already working on in order to continuously improve the overall user experience.

• A new fully comprehensive and easy to read roadmap page including different phases and the corresponding milestones.
• A dedicated page for our Lisk Grant program, which will be revealed at Lisk.js 2021.
• An introductory “What is blockchain” page for all newcomers.
• A dedicated page explaining the Lisk Interoperability solution.
• Stand-alone pages comparing the Lisk ecosystem with other relevant projects.
• A user support option accessible through our website.

Finally, although we are extremely excited and confident in introducing Lisk.com to our community today, we would like to emphasize the fact that we welcome your input and feedback and will continue to take this on board, coupled with running user testing sessions, and continually updating our current pages in parallel with our vision set out in 2016. More details about the upcoming features and pages on the newly refreshed website will be revealed at Lisk.js 2021 on May 21st.

Lisk.com is another step closer to making blockchain more accessible to everyone.
