Lisk SDK 5.0.4 Release

In March we released the Lisk SDK 5.0.4. This release fixes a number of bugs and improves the consistency of our peer-to-peer protocol by introducing a breaking change in the message encoding. Therefore, with the new improved SDK, all proof of concept blockchain applications should now be built using the latest version, Lisk SDK 5.0.4. Lisk for Desktop Releases

Lisk 1.28.0 for Desktop

At the beginning of March, we released the Lisk 1.28.0 for Desktop. This version incorporates stronger messaging enforcement for users to initialize their accounts on Lisk Desktop. Furthermore, it also fixes regressions in responsive design styling on smaller displays, as well as enabling users to submit improved bug reports via emails. Lisk 2.0.0-beta.2 for Desktop

In addition, we released the Lisk 2.0.0-beta.2 for Desktop. This version adds support for the standby delegates in our upcoming, new DPoS consensus algorithm. The released version works with Betanet v4, however, it will not work if connected to the Mainnet or Testnet due to the API differences. More details about this release can be found on GitHub.

Lisk 1.4.1 for Mobile Release

On March 25th, we released the Lisk 1.4.1 for Mobile. This version fixes several bugs and also updates all dependencies to the latest versions. The release fixes the blurred-out account balance on the home screen, as well as other visual issues for iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. Various other security and performance improvements were also added. The new version can be downloaded here.

Build a NFT Blockchain Application with Lisk SDK

In March, we published the NFT (Non-Fungible Token) tutorial in the Lisk Documentation. This newly added tutorial shows step-by-step how to create a blockchain application that supports NFTs.

The tutorial provides an overview of the NFT blockchain application and explains the difference between fungible and non-fungible tokens. Furthermore, it describes in detail how to create a custom module that adds the features to create and purchase NFTs in a blockchain application, and also a custom plugin that provides additional NFT-related features.

Lisk Builders: Interview with Jurre Machielsen

Earlier this month we published a blog post covering an interview with a Lisk Builders program participant, Jurre Machielsen. Jurre, together with the Moosty team, built several proof of concept blockchain applications with the Lisk SDK back in 2020 as part of the Lisk Builders program.

In this interview, Jurre talks about his motivation to apply for the Lisk Builders program, his experience of developing with the Lisk SDK, and his plans for the future to further develop one of his exciting projects - Lisk Ticketing.

Monthly AMA: Ask Max Anything

On March 3rd, Max Kordek, CEO and Co-founder at Lisk, hosted the first monthly AMA (Ask Max Anything) on Max answered numerous questions from community members on a variety of topics including the upcoming milestones for Lisk, the marketing plans for 2021, our main competitors, the annual Lisk developer event, Lisk.js 2021, and much more. Announcing Lisk.js 2021

The second edition of Lisk.js was officially announced. The annual Lisk developer-focused event, Lisk.js, will take place on May 21st - 22nd as a virtual event. This promises to be an exciting event where the Lisk interoperability solution will be revealed together with new development updates, developer demos, and much more. Further details regarding the preliminary agenda of the event, as well as the already confirmed speakers, can be found in the published blog post.

Lisk Joins Crypto Open Patent Alliance

This month, Lisk joined the COPA (Crypto Open Patent Alliance) alongside other prominent members such as Coinbase and Blockstream. COPA is a non-profit community of people sharing the same perspective, together with various enterprises. COPA was formed with the goal of encouraging the adoption of blockchain technology through close collaboration.

Furthermore, COPA’s strategy also consists of working to enhance innovation and growth by removing the patent barrier. More details about this membership can be found here.

Lisk in the CV VC Top 50 Report

Lisk has again been listed as one of the top 50 blockchain projects in the famous Crypto Valley. The 6th edition of the CV VCTop 50 Report H2/2020 highlights the diverse blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem which consists of startups, corporations, and government entities.
