Naughty or Nice? How to gift a web3 holiday season
It's the holiday season, and that means it's time to find the perfect web3 gifts for those you care about. The question is, who’s been naughty, and who’s been nice? It’s been a long year, but once you’ve decided those getting crypto vs those getting coal, you’ll have to come up with the right gifts. If you are wondering what some of the best web3 gifts for 2022 are, we’ve got you covered, just keep reading!
For your current or future developer friend:
One option is to give educational courses through Udemy. All you have to do is navigate to the course page and click the “Gift this course” link below the Buy now button. You’ll be prompted to enter their email address which will be used to send them access to the course. Inspire someone to learn a language like Javascript this holiday season
Additionally, until we make the full transition from web2 to web3, we’ll still need hosting services to run our apps and websites. Give your favorite developer friend some credits to Vultr if they’re closer to the US or Hetzner if they are closer to Europe.
For the hodlers:
Ledger Nano X - This is one of our favorite wallets right now because it's secure, easy to use, and has tons of features that make it ideal for storing large amounts of cryptocurrency. Secure, buy, exchange, grow your crypto and even manage NFTs, now with Bluetooth functionality.
Ledger Nano Pod - Does your favorite crypto cosmonaut already have the Ledger? Get them an extra layer of protection and portability with the Ledger Nano Pod! This thing will help protect from scratches and impacts.
For the web3 skeptic:
If you know someone who is doubting the movement, you probably want to help them see the light. A nice textbook or ebook explaining the benefits of the decentralized web in understandable language should show them the way. We recommend Shermin Voshmgir’s “Token Economy: How the Web3 reinvents the Internet”.
According to the summary, the book “attempts to summarize existing knowledge about blockchain networks and other distributed ledgers as the backbone of the Web3, and contextualize the socio-economic implications of the Web3 applications such as smart contracts, tokens, and DAOs to the concepts of money, economics, governance and decentralized finance (DeFi)”.
Don’t forget to reward them a bit of crypto for completing the journey!
Gifting Crypto
Sometimes, it’s easier to just give the gift of crypto. Here’s a few places you can buy some LSK or other cryptos to give to your family and friends. We do recommend you withdraw the funds to your personal wallet and not leave them on the exchange for long periods of time. For Lisk, we have Lisk Desktop and Lisk Mobile
Kraken - US + global
Binance - Global, see Binance.US for US customers
Upbit - Based in South Korea
Okx - Based in China
Lisk Swag
Although our official merchandise store will not be available in time for the holiday season, there will be a number of opportunities to win some swag in December. From wearable gear to digital collectibles and LSK tokens, we’ve got quite a lot to give. Check in on our Twitter and Discord periodically so you don’t miss out on the fun!
